Derby & Mother's Day

What a big weekend.... the Ky Derby and Mother's Day! We had a very fun time all weekend!

Yesterday we went to Louisville to Chris's parents house for a little Derby celebration with the kids and his family! I decided the kids would have a Derby race of their own and we did a little arts and crafts project! I bought some yard sticks at Lowes and printed off some horse heads and jockey silks for them to color, and then cut out and glue to the sticks to "ride" ;)

Finished Product!

 "And they're off...!"
And don't you even think for a second that Chris didn't jump in and race too! Ha So fun!

We celebrated Chris's neice, Claire's, birthday... we got her a Kaboodle filled with goodies... who remembers a Kaboodle?? hahaha love it! Haven't seen one for forever until I spotted one at Target!

She's too stinkin cute!

Before the race we all drew a horse out of a bowl to win some cash (not much, kids were involved here lol so just for fun!)... well Ava had already picked a horse the day before at school and she chose "Animal Kingdom"... then when it was her turn to draw from her Mimi's bowl, she randomly drew "Animal Kingdom" again! She was so excited! Well I'll be dang if Animal Kingdom didn't win the Derby and you would have thought she hit the lotto!

Here she is with her winnings lol So excited!!

$10.00 :) LOL So precious! Go Ava!!!

I look ridic (had just gotten my makeup done from the Kaboodle gift, hince the purlpe eyeshadow, but thought this pic was cute anyway... thanks Lisa ha!

And we got to see Baby Jack ... cutest baby ever... Chris's sister's baby boy! Love him....

Cutest face ever! So sweet! <3

Then today we went to church and lunch with my mom for Mother's Day... sushi @ Miyako.. yum!

I kind of wanted to steal her flower balloon it was so cute ha!

Now I will spend the rest of today with my son... :) Watching Lifetime movies and relaxing on the couch!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms, especially my Mom! XOXO

My crazy week

First I should say that I am so tired right now I feel drunk, so if there are typos I apologize lol

This has been a CRAZZZYYYY week for me... since Friday, I have officially sold 5 houses, and doing a 6th one tomorrow! What a blessing! WOW! And I was just complaining a couple weeks ago that this time last year I was slammed and this year, I was getting a little worried, LOL guess I spoke too soon! Sometimes I am in awe of how things can happen so fast and things can change literally in the blink of an eye! I love it.

Yesterday I was showing houses, I am unlocking the door, my clients are behind me, they start to gasp like there is a spider on my head, I step back, look up in horror, and see this....

A BAT... yes a real life BAT, not a fake one, not a plastic one, a real life one, hanging upside down from the light fixture on the front porch, little ears pointed and all... about to fly down and give me rabies. Don't think so. I rush inside shut the door. We tour the house. Decide it's kinda cute, minus the bat, but in the end not for them. We all leave through the garage, where I professionally let me new clients (first time I have met them) go out first to the driveway, I stand inside, hit the garage button and run fast speed ahead jumping over the censor and under the moving garage door. Thank goodness these clients had a sense of humor, because there was no way in HELL I was going back near the front door and Mr. Batty himself. Baby bat or adult bat, I don't really care. Thanks, but no thanks. This goes down as one of the most dramatic house showings I have had I'm pretty sure.

Today I got pulled over. I was coming back from Nicholasville and I will admit, I was texting.... I know, I am a horrible person, I failed Oprah's pledge, I broke a promise to myself, I feel bad about it I really do! But sometimes I just can't help it! So I am texting and driving down a straight road with hardly any cars around me (if that makes you feel better ha it does me a little bit) and I look up and see blue and red lights in my rear of view mirror. Great. Just Great. I am going to jail for texting and driving. I knew I would eventually get caught. The time has come. I pull over into a skanky redneck gas station, he comes up behind me... I roll down my window, he says "Maam do you know why I pulled you over?" I'm thinking, of course I do I was texting, somehow you saw me through my tinted windows and now I am going to jail, but I calmy say "No not real sure sir??" LOL

He says, "well you sped up through a yellow light causing you to run a red light, your tags are expired (whole 'nother story) and you are not wearing a seat belt."  All I can think of is, wow he didn't see me texting haha! He then asks for my drivers license and insurance.... oh boy. Anyway that knows me knows my car is a TOTAL disaster, looks like a bomb went off, but does smell like Vanilla Cupcake Yankee Candle Air Freshener :) Just looks like the city dump. So I dig through my glove compartment, middle console, look in the visors, under the seat, all the normal places you would have an insurance card (LOL) and....

Another shocker... I don't have an insurance card!! I tell him I have insurance, it comes out of my account every month on the 10th, its $212.50 lol I think he believes me, but still says I need to have it in my car. He goes back to his car for what seems like a lifetime but really was about 15 minutes (what the heck takes so long? That is just ridiculous. I was late to my appointment, hence the speeding through a yellow light lol jk I really still don't think I sped through the light!?!)... then he finally comes back... smiles and says "I will give you a warning but wear your seat belt and get your tags up to date, have a nice day."

I couldn't help but roll up my window and laugh. I was sitting there the whole time thinking, this will be a $500 ticket, I will have to come to court in Jessamine County, I don't even know where the courthouse is, blah blah blah! I was so pissed before I couldn't see straight, mad at myself for waiting 4 months to get my tags renewed when Chris tells me WEEKLY to go do it, and I procrastinate, bc that's what I do, procrastinate... I hate doing stuff like that and I hate going downtown and having to park in the garage and walk in there and wait 2 hours in a line just for a stupid little sticker for my tag! Does anyone feel my pain on this?? Anyway, that was the bad part of my day, but good because I didn't get ticket! :) Thank you Lord!

This is random, but is anyone else ready for SUMMER? What is going on with this winter weather?? UGHHH! Frankie almost wouldn't go out to pee this morning because I think he was in shock of the coldness, which made me think back to how much he loves Summer, and how much of a model he really is...

This is Frankie w/ his cousin Lucy-Belle at the lake, with their "faux" Louis Vuitton life-jackets lol

And here he is on the boat with his visor in case the sun is too much for his eyes... haha Thanks Aunt Steph :) Can't wait to go with you this Summer and Frankie can't wait either!!

Happy Wednesday!

Some Preferred Business

For those of you living in Lexington, I have some good referrals for you! Now I know us women can do it ALL, find things that are "lost, thrown away, or misplaced" by our significant other, clean the house, do the grocery shopping, write the bills, schedule things, take care of the social calendar, do the laundry, let the dog out to pee, etc etc etc. However, there are two things that this little lady does NOT do:

1. Any yard mowing or maintenance
2. Any handy-man issues that come up around the house

Now luckily Chris does most of these things, but when I lived alone, I paid a ridiculous amount of rent to live in a nice apartment so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Those days are over. And I know lots of my girlfriends live alone or with other girlfriends... or you may be married to a very lazy, I mean busy, husband hahaha...so you may be in need of two VERY good referrals!

Referral Numero Uno...

A good friend and client of mine, Adam, started this company and they are a great number to have on your fridge or in your celly! They can do it all! Small or large jobs, any sort of handy-man project or task, they can handle! They are very good to work with and reasonably priced. I have used them with several of my clients and have always had a pleasant experience, as I know my clients have too. Please visit their website and store their number... you never know when you made need it! Please take it from me, don't just choose a random contractor out of the phonebook...when it comes to work around the house, if not quoted by a reliable professional, homeowners can be easily ripped a new one, if you know what I mean! Rest assured, you can trust Adam and his crew :)

Referral #2 ...

Now this is a MAJOR referral right now... because if you are like me, you hate when your grass is taller than your dog while he is trying to go pee-pee outside! And also like me, you like to see the "stripes" in your lawn when it gets mowed by a professional :)  This company is owned by a good Realtor friend of mine, Ben, and they tend to yards all over Lexington! If you are in need of a "landscape spruce up" or even just a good mowing, these are your guys! Also reasonably priced, I think you will be highly satisfied! Visit their Facebook Fan Page  and "Like" it to get more information and to contact them! Tell them RealDanaGentry sent you :)

While I'm at it, I might as well plug Chris's new Property Inspection Company as well!

Whether you are buying a home (and if you are hopefully you are using me as your Realtor lol) or whether you know someone who is in need of a property inspection... please check out his Facebook Fan Page and "Like" it... and keep it in mind if you happen to ever need a home inspection or know anyone who does! Thanks guys!!

Now just another fun fact... my "Royal Wedding...and Divorce" blog from three days ago has had 8,767 views!! Is this insane or what? I think it's because David Beckham's name is in it and people are googling him and stumbling upon my little bloggy and thinking it is going to be something special about him hahahaha! Just can not believe it every time I look at my "stats" button! Craziness.
Note to self: blog about hot soccer players more often for the hard core blog hits!

Royal Wedding... and Divorce :)

Ok so I will admit I was very excited to watch the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton ... but not excited enough to wake up at 4am, so I set my handy dandy DVR to record the entire thing and woke up this morning and watched it :) I thought the entire thing was breath taking, and all the detail and just "poshness" (may or may not be a word but you get the drift) was fabulous! I loved everyone's hats and head pieces the most... everytime I would see one I loved and say "that one is my favorite!" then I would spot another 15 seconds later that I loved even more!!! Kate looked spectacular. The cars... the maroon Rolls, was to die for. Prince William and Prince Harry both looked very handsome in their uniforms. The trees in the chapel really gave the garden feel that they said Kate was going for theme-wise. I just loved the entire thing :) And this picture is so cute...

 Just beautiful! Love it!

Lastly on the royal wedding talk... everyone knows I mean no disrespect to Chris and I do love him very much,
but HOT DAYUM did you see David Beckham at the wedding??

He literally is so hot, he is almost pretty. And I mean I am not a huge Posh Spice fan, but I do normally really like her style and her outfits, but today she really just didn't do it for me. I know she is prego again, so maybe she just wanted to cover up, but either way, the Navy was so drab and her hat was not even close to be one of my favorites from the day :( A little disappointing. But her husband sure made up for it! lol

With all the royal wedding talk, I thought it very appropriate to share this joke with you that I received from Cathi (Chris's mom) this morning and literally laughed outloud and loved it so much I had to share...

Why I Am now Divorced
Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel
very well waking up on that morning.

I went downstairs for breakfast
hoping my husband would be pleasant and say,
'Happy Birthday!',
and possibly have a small present for me.

As it turned out,
he barely said good morning,
let alone ' Happy Birthday.'

I thought....  Well, that's marriage for you,
but the kids.... they will remember.

My kids came bounding down stairs to breakfast
and didn't say a word..

So when I left for the office,
I felt pretty low and somewhat despondent.

As I walked into my office,
my handsome Boss Rick, said,
'Good Morning, lady,
and by the way
Happy Birthday! '

It felt a little better
that at least someone had remembered.

I worked until one o'clock ,
when Rick knocked on my door
and said, 'You know,
It's such a beautiful day outside,
and it is your Birthday,
what do you say we go out to lunch,
just you and me..'

I said, 'Thanks, Rick,
that's the greatest thing
I've heard all day. Let's go!'

We went to lunch.
But we didn't go where we normally would go.
He chose instead a quiet bistro
with a private table.
We had two martinis each
and I enjoyed the meal tremendously.

On the way back to the office,
Rick said, 'You know,
It's such a beautiful day...
We don't need to go straight back to the office,
Do We?'

I responded, 'I guess not.
What do you have in mind?'
He said, 'Let's drop by my place,
it's just around the corner.'

After arriving at his house,
Rick turned to me and said,
If you don't mind,
I'm going to step into the bedroom
for just a moment.
I'll be right back.'
'Ok.' I nervously replied.

He went into the bedroom and,
after a couple of minutes,
he came out
carrying a huge birthday cake ...
Followed by my husband
my kids, and dozens of my friends
and co-workers, all singing 'Happy Birthday'.

And I just sat there....

On the couch....

Naked.

Bahahahahahah loved this joke!!! Thanks Cathi!
Have a great Friday :)

Things I Love (and a few I am so over!!)

I love to find great things, good products, etc and I always love sharing with friends... so this post is just a randomness of things I am loving right now, along with a few things I am over and wish would disappear lol...
Some are cheap and funny and some are serious so I hope you will read til' the end and enjoy!! :)

Things I am Loving ...

I will honestly admit to anyway who asks, I am compulsively obsessed with whitening my teeth. Call it vain or not, I just like for my teeth to be as white as humanly possible haha. I feel like this is something I can control and I just enjoy white teeth. With that said, I was starting to show signs of overdoing the white strips and bleach because my teeth were KILLING me with anything cold... so I have backed off and no strips for about 6 months. (was a lot harder than you would think, don't judge ha) So my friend Steph told me to try this mouthwash... and I wanted to share because it TOTALLY WORKS and it does not hurt my teeth :) Now it may not be as strong as zoom or white strips... but after about 3 days I started telling a difference. It doesn't taste super good, but won't make you gag either. It's awesome. Period.

My hair has been absolutely OOC (out of control) for the past few months. It's breaking off, it's thinning, it looks dry and gross and I have just been so fed up I wear it in a pony tail all the time (which could be part of the problem also with the breaking, Leigh Ann, my fabulous stylist says). So last week when I went to get my hair did, she suggested this... It is an oil from the Kerastase line, which I honestly am hearing is better than the newly popular "Moroccan" Oil. It wasn't cheap... I think I paid $35 for this bottle, but you only need a small amount, I mean small! I really like it so far! I think it is helping :)

Ok you may see Estee Lauder and think your grandma if you're like me... however.... this perfume is THE bomb.com... it instantly takes you to the beach in your brain with one whiff. I love love love it and don't know how many more times I have to hint to Chris that I need this as a surprise! LOL I keep spraying it every time I go through Macy's but didn't buy because I just got a big new bottle of my old faithful Kate Spade perfume. But the warmer it is getting, the more I need this! It's amazing!

This one is silly and fun, but I am just LOVING having this blog :) I love reading everyone else's blogs and I love having my own little cute one! I can't believe I have missed out on this for so long! I just love it!

I love Joel Osteen. (not in a gross, have a crush on a pastor, kind of love ha) But I just love his positive attitude and uplifting words and messages. I caught him on TV the other night at midnight and am not DVR'ing him every week just because no matter what he is preaching about he always lifts me up, and I like that. If you have never heard him, you can download his messages on iTunes and also from his website. Also if you like to read, his books are all wonderful and I can't wait for the next one to come out! His wife, Victoria, also has a great book out that I have read and loved....

Ok this one is for anyone who is a Realtor reading this... or if you do any business with clients out of an office, like in your car, on the side of the road, at Starbucks, or at someones dining room table after showing their house lol (those are just a few of my recent spots ha).... Sign my Pad for iPad is the best app I have on my iPad! I am highly obsessed with it. You can actually sign and have clients sign on your iPad with their finger or a stylus, and then email the document, save, upload to a paperless system, etc without ever having to print, scan, fax or scan back! AHHHHHH changed my LIFE and my business! Thank you Apple & Adobe! Ha :)

Ok I will be honest, I thought I would hate this show and it would be so superficial and ridiculous (which sometimes it can be don't get me wrong) but for the most part I am loving it! This girl has got the patience of Job and even though sometimes her accent annoys me, ha, I really like her and the show. It's entertaining to say the least, which is what I like at the end of the day to wind down and get my mind on something light and easy.

Things I am SOOOOO Over ...

If these d*mn storms don't go away I will seriously lose it. EVERY single night for what seems like the past week, the tornado sirens have gone off and we are up and down, looking outside, turning on the news, watching the Doppler radar on our phones, calming Frankie, etc etc etc and I am getting horrible sleep! The sirens literally sound like they are on our back patio. It is so annoying. The rain is wearing me out... the air, the gloomy skies, just everything, and I am SO over it. However this picture did remind me of one thing...

TOTO! hahaha and can you not see a little resemblance here .... they kind of could be brothers....

HAHAHA Frankie looks a little like ToTo I think :)

Next thing I am over....

Headaches. I think this pertains to the weather too... but I have had a headache nonstop this week. I am overdosing on ibprofen I feel like and they just come right back! Ugh! :( So over headaches.

SO OVER TAMARA! Give me a break! She needs a reality check. Eddy is a joke, she is a joke, pulling the little "I'm a lesbian for 5 seconds joke" is a joke, haha, I could go on and on. I am ready for someone new on Real Housewives of OC ... she is just on my last nerve! Am I alone in this???

Ok I think that is it for now... Hope everyone is having a great Hump Day!

Easter

First and foremost, I will admit, even though it may look like I was absorbed with Easter outfits, baskets, preparations, etc I want everyone to know that Easter is my fave holiday for all those fun things, but more importantly because it is a very special and meaningful day that symbolizes all of mine, and your, sins being forgiven forever! What a feeling! Truly indescribable. I am so blessed! Beyond words, and will be forever grateful. <3

With that said, I would be lying to you if I didn't admit I LOVEEEE Easter fun! Here are the after pics of the baskets I tried to copy from this previous post ...

Finished Project! :) Kids LOVED them, they were so surprised! I think Ella's exact words were "Oh my gosh this is like Martha Stewart" hahahaha that may be pushing it but at least it was the thought lol

These were such a hit, the Easter Bunny got them for all the kids ;) from PersonalizationMall.com They are personalized coloring books... sooo cute! Came with crayons and everything...

And the inside was all personalized too and told a story with the child's name in it... they were awesome!

We had a TOTAL Egg Coloring EGGstravaganza :)

We hid eggs and also did a game with our "Resurrection Eggs" that were so great... read through the whole Easter story by the little trinkets in these eggs, I got them at Hobby Lobby and am so glad because they will be a tradition from this year forward!

The kiddos looked so cute in their Easter outfits ... we went with a teal theme haha

Chris and I had fun too and I even got an Easter surprise ....

November Birthday Blooms Bead

So thoughtful of him to get me a charm for my Pandora Bracelet... the "November" bloom charm! I love it! :)

I made my little cute sign thingy that I learned from Shasta Anne ... don't know that it's quite as cute as hers because I had no ribbon to make bows on the ends.. but it turned out ok!

My dad and I did some cooking... so I got to bust out my diva apron lol

Yes I have on house shoes and yes even though it is cute, it does kinda unfortunately make me look prego ha

My dad fixed the most amazing ham you've ever had with brown sugar and oranges, OMG my mouth waters just looking at this picture! The leftovers were even better for dinner tonight too!

And I had cute little plates and napkins for the table...

I got to spend some time with my cousins... Kenzy & Addison, and my mom too :)

Look at Frankie what a model he is, I'll tell you what, Pedigree or someone needs to sign him ASAP!

Of course I didn't forget him on Easter, and neither did the Easter Bunny.... ;)

A special little basket just for Frankie ;) He loved it! He played with his rabbit all night....

Hope you all had a great Easter too! XO
